For the third year in a row, PKPR handled PR for Time Inc.‘s annual Internet Week New York event - 10 NYC Startups to Watch. More than 30 journalists attended the party at the brand new Hudson Commons, where they had a chance to interview founders of the honored startups.

Techcrunch TV did three segments on honorees: Grouper (below), FiftyThree, and Fitocracy.  Other coverage highlights included a Fox Business segment and articles in The New York Daily News and am New York (above).

Time Inc. Hosts 2nd Annual 10 NYC Startups to Watch

For the second year in a row, PKPR managed publicity for Time Inc’s 10 NYC Startups To Watch, which has quickly become one of the flagship annual events of Internet Week New York. TechCrunch called it a “pretty badass party” and New York Observer’s BetaBeat named it one one of the “ten must-see events of Internet Week.” 

More than 50 journalists attended the event, filing on-the-scene stories featuring interviews with founders of Codecademy, Artsy, Fab, Stamped, and the other honored startups. Highlights of the coverage included a TechCrunch TV segment, in depth stories in Adweek, Fox Business, WNET’s MetroFocus, and Portfolio, and a slideshow on PCMag.com profiling each of the startups.

Time Inc. Names 10 NYC Startups to Watch

Time Inc. tapped PKPR to handle publicity for Ten NYC Startups to Watch, its flagship event during Internet Week New York 2011.

PKPR worked closely with the Time Inc. team on the project, including developing the concept for the event, announcing the startups recognized by Time Inc, and managing media at the sold-out party.

Coverage ranged from Adweek and Yahoo! Scene (check out the awesome video segment above) to the New York Daily News to Portfolio, NYConvergence, and New York Observer’s BetaBeat.  Reporters from more than 20 outlets attended the event, including the Wall Street Journal, ABC News, Crain’s New York, and PaidContent.
