Marking the fifth anniversary of 9/11, more than 30 victims of terror from around the world gathered in New York City for a historic conference highlighting solutions to terrorism that break the cycle of violence. To raise awareness of the conference—and ensure that the voices of those who support peaceful conflict resolution were included in anniversary coverage, PKPR booked leaders of Peaceful Tomorrows on more than 20 radio shows around the country, including Milwaukee, Detroit, Tampa, Los Angeles, and Boston, as well as appearance on USA Radio and Pacifica’s Democracy Now. A highlight of the campaign was a joint appearance on CNN by Terry Rockefeller, who lost her sister in the 9/11 attacks, and Beatriz Abril, who lost her brother in the Madrid bombings.
